As a Designer, I have gathered quite the list of design resources during my career. Here are some of my favorites that I always come back to.
Icons
- The Noun Project is one of the best places for icon research. You can see what words match up with what icons and download SVGs of the results.
- Simple Icons is where you can grab icons/logos of a lot of commercial companies.
Typefaces
- Fonts in Use is a great resource to discover typefaces and typeface usages.
- Typography for Lawyers is the ultimate guide when it comes to typeface styling. This is one of the best typeface guides you need to create well-design, clear type designs.
- WhatTheFont for translating screenshots to typeface options.
- Free Faces is a great resource for free typefaces.
- Open Foundry is a great resource for free typefaces.
- Typescale is a great resource to visualize web type scales quickly.
Photos
- Pexels is a great stock image resource.
- Unsplash is a good stock image resource. This website is beginning to get worse, so it may be removed soon as it is starting to suffer from enshittification.
Color
- Web Color Contrast Checker is a good resource to check ADA text readability requirements for web.
- Coolors is a fun, easy color palette generator.
Resources
- TheStocks is a catch-all design resource collection.
Chrome Extensions
- WhatFont is an extension to identify what font a website is using.
- ColorZilla is an eyedropper tool in the browser to identify colors on the web.
- GoFullPage is a whole webpage screen capture tool.
